waking

breaking crisp
reprieve
a surprise
how clean the dawn
how true the air
sudden hint of autumn
silence and then whispers
of the chill ahead
of the earth's slumber soon to be
tinkling raindrops
from dizzying treetops
glinting
dancing
leftover kisses
rainshower's remains
promises to see
her slow quiet nod
trace of sweetest
knowing smile
nature's generous gift
this glorious
unfolding day
